Their disconnect from the vast majority of Americans, who don't live in L.A., Chicago, or New York? Is as great as the vastness of space.

Perhaps they are counting on people being too lazy to pay attention. And/or just too lazy to get off the couch? (I mean you can have someone pick-up, then deliver your junk/fast food. Without so much as lifting a finger).
