WATERTOWN, Massachusetts — Federal agents conducted Thursday morning raids in Massachusetts, New York and New Jersey in connection with the failed Times Square car bomb and arrested two Pakistani men who provided money to suspect Faisal Shahzad, law enforcement officials said.

The two Boston-area men had a "direct connection" to Pakistani-American suspect Faisal Shahzad, said a top Massachusetts law enforcement official. They are believed to have provided money to him. A law enforcement official familiar with the investigation said one of the men had overstayed his visa.

Will you be my special friend?

Fans who share their passion for NBC shows online could earn the network's appreciation — and prizes — in return. "Fan It," an initiative aimed at turning social-media users into an ad hoc promotional team for the network, will launch Monday, NBC said Thursday.

"A recommendation from a friend is infinitely more powerful than any message we can put out through conventional marketing channels," said Adam Stotsky, president of NBC Entertainment Marketing.

After signing up on NBC's website and logging in to their Facebook, Twitter, MySpace or MyNBC accounts, participants earn points through activities such as chatting about series and steering friends to NBC-related links.

The points can be redeemed for rewards including sneak previews of shows, NBC merchandise and entry into a sweepstakes to win big-ticket items such as attendance at the finale of "The Biggest Loser" or a prop from "The Office," the network said.

Elena Kagan’s Thesis.

Doug Ross posts the Cliff Notes’ version:

“I have transcribed some of the key graphs, below. In fact, you can read her entire, 130-page thesis in 90 seconds here if you wish. I’m not joking about that.

It’s now crystal clear that Kagan was nominated for one reason: to rubber-stamp Obama’s radical agenda, including an individual mandate for socialized medicine.

She is a radical. She is a socialist. And she must be blocked at all costs.”

... the most painful two minutes of video you will ever watch.

Andy McCarthy:

"This YouTube clip from the Attorney General’s testimony today will be the most painful two minutes of video you will ever watch. Mr. Holder would obviously rather get a root-canal than utter the words 'radical Islam' (despite the fact that his description of the American people as 'a nation of cowards' on race and of Bush officials as war criminals seemed to roll of the tongue without much difficulty)."
