Doctors desperately fight to save the Guardian U.K., in a tricky operation to remove their head from their arse.

"Bush is the real threat." Tony Benn, Wednesday August 31, 2005, The Guardian.

Now that the US president has announced that he has not ruled out an attack on Iran, if it does not abandon its nuclear programme, the Middle East faces a crisis ..... We would be told that it had been done to uphold the principles of the nuclear non-proliferation treaty (NPT) .....

The moral and legal basis of the NPT convention ..... was based on the agreement of non-nuclear nations not to acquire nuclear weapons. Even those who are opposed, as I am, to nuclear weapons in every country including Iran ..... accept that nuclear power for electricity generation need not necessarily lead to the acquisition of the bomb.

"Secret services say Iran is trying to assemble a nuclear missile." Ian Cobain and Ian Traynor, Wednesday January 4, 2006, The Guardian

The Iranian government has been successfully scouring Europe for the sophisticated equipment needed to develop a nuclear bomb, according to the latest intelligence assessment of the country's weapons programmes.

Scientists in Tehran are also shopping for parts for a ballistic missile capable of reaching Europe, with "import requests and acquisitions ... registered almost daily", the report seen by the Guardian concludes.

The 55-page intelligence assessment, dated July 1 2005, draws upon material gathered by British, French, German and Belgian agencies.

"Intelligence report claims nuclear market thriving." Wednesday January 4, 2006, The Guardian.

..... the 55-page confidential "early warning" intelligence assessment is impressive in the sheer mass of detail on the names and locations of suspect players in the global WMD game ..... west European engineering firms, germ laboratories ..... are successfully preyed on by multitudes of middlemen, front companies ..... working for the Iranian, Syrian or Pakistani regimes ..... to procure the means to develop chemical, biological, nuclear and conventional weapons.

Just call the new messiah "hotline." Or log on to Bright Future News Agency to get the latest religious readout - all part of the effort by freshly rejuvenated true believers in Iran to spread their message of the imminent return of the Mahdi, the 12th Imam who is expected to return to impose justice and spread peace. "The Imam of the Age will have victory, and all the world will support him, except some regimes and governments that are racist, like Zionists," says Poursayed-Aghaie. The result will be global dominance of Shiite Muslims.
