Leni Riefenstahl Lives

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Want to get a serious eerie case of the willies? This clip from Memri is like going back in time. Being in Nuremberg in 1934, during filming of Triumph of the Will. Obviously lacking the scale, composition, lighting, editing, and soundtrack that made Riefenstahl's magnum opus' derangement so devastating. But still possesssing the raw distillate essence. Will Israel or the U.S. launch an attack on Iran? Just watch the first minute of the clip even, and tell me no. And then I get to call you an idiot.

The thousand year reign has begun. Two minute forty seven seconds, clip number 1124 is also very highly recommended. Swirling fades to make any eighth grade cinema student beam with pride. And a heartfelt soundtrack:

Oh homeland, your honor in the world is eternal
Every inch of your soil is the arena of heroes

Science and initiative are the fruit of young men's work
They are the greatest gift now and forever.

Nuclear energy is the symbol of our strength
Iran, Iran, you must remain forever

Jews’ declining population Vs Zionism dream

In the on going brutal Israeli occupation of Palestine, one of the less publicized problems facing Israel is that the demographics of the Jewish population are going horribly wrong for the dream of Zionism. Israel has always relied on large influxes of ‘Jewish’ people from around the world to boost its population in relation to the Palestinians.

The best decade for Zionism was the 1990’s, when 1 million people migrated to Israel. Since 2001, however, large numbers of Israelis started emigrating to Russia, Germany and the USA. For the first time in Israel’s history, there was a net loss of people of over 11,000 people.

The Palestinian population on the other hand is rising at around twice the rate of the Jewish, despite Israel’s attempts to make life under occupation as intolerable as possible.

'Prince Charles opens Bedouin tent at London peace center'

LONDON - Prince Charles on Thursday officially opened London's most unlikely new landmark - a large Bedouin tent. Created of out goat hair, carpeted with rugs. The structure stands in the garden of the former St. Ethelburga's Church . Built in Saudi Arabia and designed to withstand London's regular rain showers - (it) will be used for events promoting interfaith dialogue.

Charles: "If only we could understand each other's groupings ..... we might perhaps reduce the level of conflict and violence and misunderstanding." The opening received messages of support from former U.S. President Bill Clinton and rock star Bono.

Clinton praised the center: "As the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11 in my country so painfully demonstrated, there are still those who place their difference above our common humanity, who prefer to demonise people who are unlike them rather than learn from one another."

'An Imam knocked out a 6 years old female child!'

2006/04/19 - Tétouan, MOROCCO - Imam Moustafa Lazrak was praying at the beginning of the afternoon, in the classroom, although it was time to begin the class. Entering the room, little Nihad stepped with inadvertency the prayer carpet of the imam. The imam-teacher hits her violently, and she fell on the ground. (Via http://www.discardedlies.com/)

You are getting sleepy, very sleepy. You're eyelids are getting heavy, very heavy. When you awaken, every time you hear the words Allah Akhbar, you will kill the Jew. (Rawmahlama ding dong comes to low earth orbit).

Founders of the new Islamic satellite channel, Al Risala (The Message), describe it as the latest step in a “new Islamic media revolution”, according to an article on the Christian Science Monitor. Al Risala is financed by Saudi billionaire Prince al Walid bin Talal. The Kuwait-based channel began broadcasting at the beginning of March on two satellite carriers that reach millions across the Middle East and Europe.

Fortunately, jihad is a peaceful inner struggle and Islam is a religion of peace; else watching those in the Islamic Republic of Iran continously drone "Allah Akbar" over and over again whilst waving around tubes of enriched uranium could be quite the cause for concern.

I yusta make fun of religious types back in the day as a G*dless libwuhl. One of my favorite encounters was with a Moonie at Santa Monica's farmer's market, back in the day (the light was on but no one was home). She was harmless enough (though very amusing). More in the province of a commissioned salesperson, chasing after a spiff.

I've progressed some, along life's trail (why you can even call me an agnostic). Gaining a small understanding and appreciation of spirituality in others.

What exists in the heart and mind of Ahmadinejad, precludes any reference to spirituality. Strangely there are still some peaceniks in Israel who believe peace is just a day away. Me? I have never been more convinced a hard rain's gunna fail. The only questions being which day, which cloud (Israel or the U.S.), and how hard.
