Sh*t smells

carolina garcia editor la daily news

Oooh ... deep Elmo (tell us something we don't know). Yep, no news there. But, the attack on the truth, the willful benign neglect of integrity? Just plain stinks. And I will call a smelly turd, a smelly turd (Carolina Garcia, Editor/L.A. Daily News). Rather than remain quiet, or turn away in disgust.

Presented for your comparative olfactory displeasure ....

1)

L.A. Daily News, October 2005:

Bush motorcade leaves other folks fuming

One hundred Brentwood kindergartners, were all set to go see "The Wizard of Oz" on Friday when their first-ever field trip was blocked by the nation's 43rd president. President Bush, his Marine One helicopter grounded by fog, brought morning rush hour to a standstill while his motorcade proceeded from West Los Angeles through the San Fernando Valley to Simi Valley for the dedication of the Air Force One Pavilion.

Julie Fahn, a volunteer mom at Kenter Canyon Elementary in Brentwood .... "My poor children - they were so disappointed. They're all so sad. They were inconvenienced by a silly motorcade down Sunset (Boulevard)." .....
One glamorous Westsider suggested an alternate route for the president. Another wielded a sign that said simply, "Impeach Bush."

Like many from a region that overwhelmingly cast votes against Bush in 2004, Page was critical of the president's decision to disrupt the nation's busiest freeway commute.
"Canyon parents, they are not happy with (Bush) right now," "He's not at the top of any list." "The kids did not see the wizard."

2)

Fast forward three years and a half years. A different President (of a different political persuasion), no mention (any mention) of traffic ... at all. Of the near complete shutdown of the Westside, city traffic being blocked, stopped, backed up all over the freakin place, even freeways ... of course the 405. Entirely fooging up the afternoon/evening commute for many hundreds of thousands. By design. And not content to let go slobbering all over the Prez's salami, the Daily News next hides the unctuous elites at play nature of the President's visit. Making it sound like a welcome, care free Sotomayor unveiling/promotion. As well the perverted amount of money raised for the Dems [deleting such passages entire (what a surprise)].

(Link for reference only).
B e l o w as published in today's atomic L.A. Daily News [article isn't online yet ... (if ever?)].

Obama touts economy, Sotomayor
(Note immediate difference in tone of banner/tagline)

LOS ANGELES – President Barack Obama defended his Supreme Court pick and painted an upbeat vision of the economy Wednesday as he addressed major donors to the Democratic Party in Beverly Hills.

"It's safe to say we have stepped back from the brink, that there is some calm that didn't exist before," Obama told donors and celebrities at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. He said the stimulus bill that Congress passed three months ago is starting to improve the economy.

He also addressed critics of his choice of federal judge Sonia Sotomayor for the nation's highest court. Sotomayor has stirred some controversy by saying her experiences as a Latina from a struggling, immigrant family make her more sensitive to certain cases than more privileged people might be.

"A lot has been made about the Supreme Court and my criteria," Obama said in a 20-minute speech to 250 of the night's biggest donors. "I want people who have a common touch, who have a sense of what it's like to struggle."

He praised Sotomayor because she knows that "every once in a while, people need a hand up."

The president mixed optimism with caution as he thanked those who backed his campaign.

Obama supporters waved and cheered as his motorcade approached the Beverly Hilton
, some protesters decried Tuesday's California Supreme Court ruling that upheld the voter-approved gay marriage ban. Some of them also urged Obama to repeal the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy for gays.

The L.A. Daily News delegating/relegating coverage of the Prez's visit, to al Qaeda propaganda (AP). Can't be bothered budgeting gas, wage, pencils, and paper (and doing their job). None the less .... you can in fact go to the Daily News website, right now. And BUY pictures of the President's visit (strange that).

We ain't done yet ....

3)

Thinking maybe you'd avoid the near complete shutdown of the Westside? Perhaps maybe shrewd dude that you are .... take an alternate route (or better yet an alternate means)? You know, hop in the ole Citation,
Gulfstream or Bombardier and pop into (Monta)Ceeto for the weekend?

Good luck wit dat ....

LOS ANGELES — The Federal Aviation Administration announced temporary flight restrictions on private pilots will be in effect in the greater Los Angeles area between early Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning.

An FAA statement Tuesday said only airlines, law enforcement aircraft and air ambulances will be allowed to fly within a 12-mile radius of Santa Monica Airport between 1:15 p.m. Wednesday and 7:40 a.m. Thursday.

"During this time, private pilots will not be able to fly into or out of Los Angeles International Airport, Santa Monica Airport, Hawthorne Municipal Airport, Van Nuys Airport and Burbank Airport," the statement said.

Ain't life in the Obamanation grand? (Don't say we din't warnya).

Addendum, Friday, May 29

Dear Leader Ceasars Palace 5 26 09
"(I'll) put these first four months up against any prior administration since FDR".

Really Obie ... ooh what a surprise [to see you think that you can still walk on water ( You Sir are deranged)]. More hope(lessness) & (non)change .... (Via Drudge)

... sandwiched between political appearances, Obama squeezed in some quick public remarks on energy ... at Nellis Air Force Base. It was a key stop, because it gives the entire trip an air of official legitimacy and allows the White House to write off part of the trip under rules governing travel ...

"You've got to have some official (business) in the trip somewhere. It becomes almost a game to find some official function to hang the trip on," (Sepp said). The rest, though, is all politics. And, if history is any gauge, the American taxpayer will pick up a large portion of the tab ...

Newspapers? Say good bye ... [buh bye (ya stinky/stanky scum)].

Plastic Logic, based in Mountain View (and Cambridge, UK), will start selling a sleek e-reader ... in the US next year. The device is the size of a standard sheet of paper (8.5 x 11-inch) and as thin as several credit cards, and weighs less than a pound ... There is no keyboard, just a touch screen and the rendering of the black and white images and text was clear and impressive.

Blah blah blah ... (Via Drudge)

The president conceded that his administration "had our fits and starts. I've made some mistakes, and I guarantee you I'll make some more."

Yeah we know Barry, we know.

This post has no title

I remember as a lad, the day JFK was shot. For whatever reason, this first grader wasn't in school that day. Was with the folks, lunching at a small local hamburger stand (long gone for an overpass). When people shuddered, then whispered in somber and hushed tones. Clocks stopped. The world had gone akilter. No little axial wobble that.

Eventually .... the crushed, but not beaten spirit of America returned. And among the renewal could be heard new sounds, the Beatles ... rock n' roll baby. And though I be as happy as any, when JohnPaulGeorgeandRingo poured forth. Merrily escaping the confines of the central, dash mounted mono speaker, fed by the metal AM car radio. I none the less had a distinct and knowing affinity for the Marine Corps Hymn. Always taking comfort in its simple bipolar color palette lyric.

In a world gaining in complexity, while spinning exasperatingly faster. Some things will never change. The debt of gratitude we owe to those who gave their all, their everything. With nary a sigh, pause, or backward glance. Facing evil ... eye to eye, toe to toe. Neither blinking nor turning away. Nor faltering. Never surrendering the light, unto the darkness. Not questioning their belief in themselves or America. Never breaking under an enormous mountain of evil.

Not for adulation, congratulation, esteem, reward, or commendation. Simply doing the right thing. For G*d and country. Your America, my America, our America. On this day, it is my privilege to bow head, to speak in a whispered tone. To stand and be counted among those who give eternal Thanks.

Everybody's Gone Waterboarding, Waterboarding U.S.A.

Us conservatives, we loves to torture. It's all we do. Nothing else. Torture torture torture. Mornin noon and night. Twenny fo sebben. Eat, sleep, breathe ... torture. When we awake in the morn, we pull the wings off a few flies, just to say hello world (hello world). Stomp on a few ants, squish a spider or two, and then poison a few rats .... all before that first cuppa joe.

After coffee? Well now sunshine, we're almost ready to face the day. We warm up the high zoot automatic paintball gun, and ping da (Obama voter) neighbor's cat, for around fifteen minutes (who's your daddy b*tch). Now feeling a part of life's grand parade, we proceed to have a spot o' breakfast (mmm meat). Properly nourished, it be time. Time to head out.

We get in the detroit iron blunderbus 8 banger (with the hole in the exhaust manifold). Pop C.W. McCall in the eight track player. And keep our peepers open for any swarthy types, who might be wearing a check patterned linen scarve. And after we manage to capture us one (with a promise of goat sex), we head out to our secret mountain hideaway (under the Naval Observatory, in Washington D.C. ). Then after throwing the ten ton unobtanium door shut, we string him up with a blue velvet rope. Now we're talkin, oh yeah (let the torture begin).

We start off slowly, savoring the moment (as all good torturers do). Showing the LP cover (Meridth Monk, Turtle Dreams) to our captor, just to see the look of fear in his eyes (and of course I get to feel that tingle in my leg). Then placing headphones atop his leel pinhead (first removing towel), I slap the licorice pizza down on the platter, and let her rip. At max volume. Over and over again. If it weren't for my earplugs, I might be tempted to tell my guest to hush up, but nice guy that I am .... I just let him scream. Until he begs. Begs for circumcision and a Bar Mitzvah. But no .... we ain't done (uh uhn).

Time for lunch. We dial Pizza Express ... and when the delight arrives, we wave a slice under his nose. Slowly, back and forth so the porked pepperoni can infuse his every synapse. Until he cries .... like a baby (the tears bring me great joy and happiness). After lunch? Well now, a spot of tea on the veranda does sound nice (dudden it). But first we slip a vintage Gong Show episode in the ole vcr, and hit play (goodness gracious man, have you no mercy).

When we return, after our much deserved sippa orange pekoe (this torture stuff is hard work, and don't let anyone on Pelosi's staff tell ya different). We ask him if he's thristy? We pour a tall glass full of Mogen David, and toss in some ice. We tell our new bestest bud that it's grape juice. And nearly bust a gut laughing, when asks for a straw after first taking a sip. We turn off the TV with a devilish smile. And out of sight, without much difficulty ... manage to locate our one Fanny Brice record, and cue it up. As Meester Limb a' Moose's screams quickly return, the smile on my face grows wider. Wider still as he begs for mercy (I tells him I'm fresh out).

In this thing called life, us Repubs don't much care for things like wimmin, cars, the movies, going shopping at the new mall (and grabbing some fru fru frozen yogurt). We just likes to torture [and don't need any painty waist excuses (what day is it? Why it's torture day!)]. It ain't even like we hate them oh so warm and fuzzy terrorist types .... we just likes to (yep you guessed it) torture. We post vids of our captor guzzing Yid wine while listening to Fanny Brice. On an Islamist website. And the humiliation crushes him. He now pleads with every ounce of his being to end his torment. Did I say we aren't finished? (A torturer's work is never done).

It's now around dinner time (my how time flies when you're having fun). So we place a call to the Kosher deli, and order a corned beef on rye. Picking up a cup of Starbucks on the way back, telling him the night is young, and maybe he'll need a little fortification? (but fail to mention Joo's run the company). We begin to settle in for a long night ...... loading a new tape in the vcr, showing us shopping at the discount warehouse supermarket. And using coupons!

Join us next week, when we remote pilot an armed aerial drone over the Swat Valley. And scout around for nurseries, preschools, and hospitals. It'll be a riot [signed, numbered limited edition "splatter prints" will be available (first come first served)].

Poll: Christians back torture despite faith

A new poll from the Pew Research Center's Forum on Religion & Public Life found that 62 percent of white evangelical Protestants surveyed believe that torture is often or sometimes justified.

David Gushee, a Baptist ethicist at Mercer University in Macon, Ga., said the poll is a sign of moral failure. He believes the war on terror has made Christians ignore the Bible. Jesus, he said, told his followers to love their enemies. That makes torture unacceptable.

Now see if you can find the hidden word, in the above article?

Hint: ain't evangelical, Christian, church, Protestant, white, Baptist, Bible, Jesus, people of faith, nor Republican (lemme know if ya need a clue?).

Parasitic flies used to turn fire ants into 'zombies'

FORT WORTH -- Some researchers in Texas are trying an unusual approach to combat fire ants -- parasitic flies that turn the pesky insects into zombies whose heads fall off.

"It's a tool. They're not going to completely wipe out the fire ant, but it's a way to control their population," said Scott Ludwig, an integrated pest management specialist with Texas A&M's AgriLife Extension Service in Overton, in East Texas.

No word on when clinical trials begin, using liberals.

Harrumph .... (Flipper lands a double back flip).

Alright well, we gotta do what we gotta do. Obie did a whole two things right [yay (well four if we count him getting the kid's the dog THEY wanted. And his taking a day off for golf)]. So we have to acknowledge thus. We don't think it means a sea change, a bwain twansplant, or even a ball job (ain't they preety/look how big they are/watch em glow). Just that yeah, we are a little surprised. That he can actually do the right thing (color me with chartreuse and heliotrope stripes). Whether by lame (but calculating) crude and empty politic, or even strange/doofus accident. Whatever the reason? Or by however means it took place, we will give thanks, and hope for more.

Now of course that likelihood, of hope (nope, I didn't just say that no ... not me), is rather small, insignificant, microcosmic. Ooond so we will continue to see the next three and a half years (until November 6, 2012), as nothing but a trudge, a slog. A mighty test of will and endurance [how Donnie Rumsfeld didn't slap them Code Pinko's right back to the middle ages, at the White House correspondent's dinner? Is beyond (better man than me Charlie Brown)].

Brownie Point/Gold Star #1:

Afghanistan. Whatever the specific reason/s (and no we won't cheap out and list all those possible, easy/tempting as that may be). Even just the appearance of doing the right thing, is a big plus.

Brownie Point/Gold Star #2:

Expressing the sentiment that the additional release of Abu Ghraib pictures, is not a good thing. Cracks open the door to the possibility, that Obie can, on one single day. Be a human being, and understand the need to do the right thing. Nope, doesn't invalidate the previous hundred, head spinning days (better check them bearings and grease). Or indicate he won't git right back up on that trampoline [and backtrack .... on his backtrack (what time is it?)]. We know he doesn't have a spine. We don't anticipate him growing one. Putting one singular vertebra on display? We will at least look, and make note (the contrast will do that to you).

So, we think the country is headed off the cliff, into the abyss. We think the damage is serious (driving a bus off a cliff will do that to you). We think the world whole is spinning out of control. We don't much think the future holds beauty and light (Islamists will do that to you). But we won't let it get us down. No. We'll try our danged'st to hang in there and keep on keeping on. In spite of Obie. The left, MSM, Hollywood, Islamists, and Iran. They can try and take the glorious lives we've known. Destroy the charm that life oft held. Make that next smile just a little bit harder.

I won't let them. Yes, the smell oft bad enough to dunn an ox. The stupidity does make your head spin (til the bearings scream for more grease). The evil that is militant radical Islam, as well their apologists, makes the enjoyment of life more difficult. But this our task, this is our life. I'll not surrender, I'll not give up. All my days. Grab yourself a beer Peeps, give yourself a smile, visit a friend, make a tiny lil local charitable donation. Snag a freshie platter for the turntable, go for a walk in the park, take a break .... driver eight, tomorrow's another day sunshine. Believe.
